When You Watch Movies Online, Be Wary of Misdirection
When people watch movies online for the first time, they aren’t usually familiar with the tricks that some people employ to mislead people like them. A good example of this is the pranking technique known as “Rick Roll” where people who are searching for a particular movie will end up opening a video of Rick Astley’s 80′s classic “Never Gonna Give You Up.“
This kind of misdirection was typically employed on Youtube, where people who searched for certain movies or TV shows ended up with that video instead. However, not all pranks with regards to online movies are as harmless. In some cases, you could end up with an infected PC or redirected to a website that is not even directly related to movies.
So if you want to watch movies online, it pays to exercise a little caution once in awhile. Although most pranks are simple, and many of them don’t happen all the time, it’s important to know that they’re out there, and a fact of life for people who want to watch movies on the internet.
